2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS Will Be a Success
Even though the car is beautiful, it hides its saloon-like qualities in the coupe shape the world is fond of. Mercedes-Benz had to come up with something new but still familiar within the Mercedes-Benz brand, so it ended up with a rear-end featuring somewhat strange tail lights. Despite its different design, the CLS will sell just fine. Mercedes-Benz sold more than 350,000 units of the expensive hunk of metal since its introduction almost 15 years ago.
Here is a car introducing us with the modern Mercedes-Benz three-liter inline-6 engine with a 48-volt electric system. The advanced electrical system made it possible for Mercedes to integrate 22hp powerful starter motor. That on top of the 366hp turbo power from an inline-6. The aim is to offer V8 power and responsiveness with six-cylinder engine efficiency and composure. Overboost is available as well. In short instances, the electric motor can provide up to an astonishing 184 lb-ft of torque.
Result?
60 mph in 4.8 seconds. Fast, but not exactly AMG-worthy numbers. Do not worry though, we will probably have to wait only for a few months before getting to know the AMG CLS53 and the extreme AMG CLS63.
