Let’s get one thing straight right from the start. Building a high-end performance wheel is a lot more complex than you might think. In short, it ain’t easy. But that is exactly what HRE Performance Wheels does and they do it to perfection. When your customers pay $5,000 to $15,000 for a set of four, you really can’t afford to provide anything other than the very best.

HRE Performance Wheels crafts single piece, two-piece and three-piece wheels for sport cars, exotics, luxury rides and SUVs. It is not surprising to see a Porsche 992, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Tesla Model X or other exotic sporting riding on HRE rims. Each and every wheel they deliver to a customer meets two primary objectives. They are beautiful, and they perform. The beauty is easy to appreciate given the incredible designs and the almost fanatical attention to the finish. Performance is experienced. But at HRE Wheels, it means the wheel has to be strong, light, have a low rotational inertia and, for high performance cars, it has to have high stiffness. A combination of design talent, engineering skills and computer Finite Element Analysis (FEA) creates a digital blueprint ensuring the manufacturing process delivers on the promise of perfection.

HRE: The Ultimate Performance Wheel

HRE Performance Wheels create custom, over-engineered, forged one, two and three-piece wheels of exceptional strength and design, that is why HRE Performance Wheels are typically very expensive. All HRE wheel profiles start out as an aluminum billet. The billet is placed in a die and exposed to tremendous pressure and heat to force it into the desired forged shape. The principal advantage of the time-consuming forging process is it actually changes the crystallization of the metal making it significantly stronger. Because it is stronger, the barrel and rim can be made thinner which in turn means lighter. Reduced weight and enhanced strength are desirable characteristics for any wheel but exceptionally important for the high-performance vehicles that sport a set of HRE rims.

After the forging process, the wheel is sent to an automated CNC whose drills, cutters, lathes, and other tools remove additional metal revealing the spoke design for monobloc wheels or the base wheel profile for the two and three piece models. Testing and measurement down to the millimeter follows before the wheel is deep cleaned and sent off to the labor-intensive finish operation. HRE finishers are fanatical in their attention to detail resulting in jewel like surfaces. The whole process, from forging to preparation for shipping takes about two weeks for a single wheel.

Trust us, the wait is worth it.

What’s New at HRE Wheels? - Vintage + FMR

Utilizing the new Forged Monobloc Rim (FMR) technology that delivers greater stiffness, strength and reduced mass, HRE turned to the inspiration of wheels mounted on classic 70s and 80s exotics and sports cars to introduce a Vintage line for today’s exotics, luxury sedans, DUVs and off-road vehicles. The FMR barrel and rim melds the benefits of forging with the aesthetics that make an impeccable two or three-piece wheel.

Vintage 935 Wheel

The 935 is just one example of the HRE Vintage line. Those dream cars of the 70s and 80s came with exciting and unique wheels and that is where HRE draws its inspiration for its “new” line of vintage wheels. With 15 designs and 72 custom color finishes, these incredible rims come in 17”, 18”, 19”, 20”. 21”, 22” and 24” diameters.

If your ride deserves the very best in wheel performance and aesthetics, if you want the satisfaction of exclusively owning a distinct and unique vehicle, you want to turn to the professionals at HRE Performance Wheels.
